Bacon’s Heir New Flavor Release/Wild Heaven Pairing, Friday, April 11th, 5-7pm, Decatur
Local Boy makes good (food)! Brett Goodson from Decatur-based Bacon’s Heir has been workin’ hard to make you forget about those hard, stale pork rinds you get at the gas station. In our minds, he’s succeeded. He makes small batches cooked in olive oil, salt and pepper. That’s it. Doesn’t get much better.
The Malabar Black Pepper flavor has been around from the beginning, but now he’s expanding out to 2 new flavors! Habañero Pepper and Rosemary & Sea Salt. He’ll be in the shop from 5-7pm giving out tastes of his Pork Clouds paired with beers from our neighbors in Avondale Estates, Wild Heaven Craft Beers! The original Malabar Black Pepper with Let There Be Light, Habanero with Invocation and Rosemary & Sea Salt with Ode to Mercy! Ride the (Pork) Clouds all the way to (Wild) Heaven!

There’s one thing that we only have one of, and that’s our planet. Earth Day celebrates this sphere we call home by focusing on green initiatives and the goal of creating a healthy, sustainable environment. Two of our favorite companies that epitomize these initiatives are Caly Road Creamery right here in Sandy Springs and Mother Earth Brewing in Kinston, NC. On Wednesday, April 23rd we’re gonna bring these 2 companies together for a beer & cheese pairing that would make the Reese’s company jealous. For a mere $5 you’ll be able to enjoy 3 delicious cheeses and 3 beers. The menu looks exactly like:
- Mother Earth Silent Night, a bourbon aged Imperial Stout paired w/ Caly Road’s Waypoint
- Mother Earth Weeping Willow Wit paired w/ Caly Road Little Stone Mountain
- Mother Earth Sisters of the Moon paired w/ Caly Road Bit of Blue
