Southbound Brewing rollout, April 23rd in Roswell!
Savannah’s fastest growing brewery, Southbound Brewing, has now set their sights on Atlanta, and we’re happy to have them! They’ve been trickling their beers in for a few months, but this week is the official launch across the city and we’re doing our part with kegs and cans this Thursday, April 23rd. We’ll have cans of the Scattered Sun, a Belgian style witbier brewed with citrus peel and coriander, and Hop’lin, a classic American IPA. We’ll also have the Hop’lin on draft for flights and growler fills along with a rare keg of Moonlight Drive, their Imperial Coffee Stout, which is just about the best thing we’ve seen come up from the South. Don’t miss this one! The beers will be pouring all day and cans should land mid day, and at 6pm we’ll have brewery and distributor reps on hand to answer any questions. So swing in on the way home and say hi, have a taste, take some home, and support local beer!
Barley and Mash Off 2015, The Marlay House, April 18th, Decatur!
Three years ago the masterminds at Ale Yeah!, The Marlay House and Terrapin got together and held a homebrew competition. But this wasn’t your standard run-of-the-mill homebrew competition, this was different. This was cool. This was, dare we say, hip. We chose a style and held the brew day at The Marlay House, with all brewers side by side, sharing ideas and brewing their beers simultaneously. A month later we all got together again, there was a judging and prizes were given out to the winners. It was awesome. Well, we’re doing it again! This year the style is a West Coast IPA and we’ll be brewing on Saturday, April 18th. Entry fee is $75, which includes all the ingredients for your brew, a custom BAMO 2015 Tshirt (one per team member, each team limited to max 4 members), food and some delicious Terrapin beer during the brew day. Our good friends at Wine Workshop and Brew Center are on board to help source the ingredients. The tasting day will be Saturday, May 16th. Prizes will include gift cards, a VIP experience at Terrapin and the grand prize, the BAMO 2015 Brewer’s Paddle!
Recipe forms are available at Ale Yeah! and Wine Workshop and Brew Center. Space is limited to 24 teams, so be sure to sign up today and join us for a truly unique experience.
